Trisha Hoyes and her husband Scotty have built their life, family, and career around one simple principle: when the call to serve comes, say “yes!”
She has faithfully followed that principle as a mother, a foster parent, a teacher, and a conservative business leader. Now she is ready to serve us once again by jumping in the race for Forsyth County School Board, District 2.
Called to the world of education, Trisha served for fifteen years as a K12 teacher. She achieved her National Board Certification and focused on serving students in special education.
After two years as a teacher here in Forsyth County Schools, Trisha moved to the next season of service for her family: becoming a mother to two and foster parent to seven children since 2019 through FaithBridge Foster Care. Over the last six years, Trisha has become a successful local business leader as a top producing realtor.
Through that real-world experience she learned firsthand just how important it is to operate with financial restraint and manage every dollar conservatively. Trisha also serves on the Mashburn LSC and is an active business partner with Mashburn, providing financial support for their initiatives.
Now, Trisha is saying “yes!” to serving our students and community on the Forsyth County School Board. She will use her experience as a Forsyth teacher, foster mom, and business leader to make a lasting impact on our schools.
“I will fight passionately to ensure our parents know what their kids are learning, that our students have every opportunity to thrive, that our tax dollars are spent wisely, and that our teachers are equipped to teach - not forced to indoctrinate.”
Trisha is committed to ensuring that our parents know what their children are learning in the classroom and what issues the school system is facing.
Whether it’s textbooks pushing dangerous ideology or inappropriate discussions, Trisha will fight to keep politics out of our schools.
Experience is important. With 15 years of experience as a teacher, including in Forsyth County schools, Trisha knows classrooms, students, and teachers firsthand.
As a business owner, Trisha understands fiscal responsibility. She will fight to keep our taxes low and ensure every dollar is managed conservatively.
School safety is vital. Trisha will push for all schools to have the same safety measures in place and continue to strengthen relationships with SROs and the sheriff’s office.
Data shows our metrics post-COVID have dipped. Trisha will advocate for academic rigor, filling the gaps, and ensuring our teachers are equipped to capture students before they fall behind.
Student enrollment is increasing at a rapid rate. Trisha will work to ensure that our schools have a proactive approach in place to accommodate and meet the needs of our students.
There has been a lack of engagement in this role. Trisha will work to create and strengthen positive partnerships with other elected officials, stakeholders, and our parents.
